Shadow Skill Manga Ends After 24 Years

Manga creator Megumu Okada announced on his official Twitter account that he has finished all of his work on his manga series Shadow Skill. He thanked his fans for supporting him during its 24 years, including several years in which he drew it before its serialization in a magazine. He also commented that with the ending of a work, a new work can begin.

18th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Nominees Announced

The Asahi Shimbun paper announced the 10 nominees for the 18th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize on Sunday. The awards commemorate the contributions of the manga pioneer Osamu Tezuka (Astro Boy/Mighty Atom, Kimba the White Lion/Jungle Emperor, Phoenix, Black Jack) by recognizing the manga that best follow his tradition.

Hitsuji no Ki Manga to End in Evening Next Month

This year's seventh issue of Kodansha's Evening magazine is announcing on Tuesday that Tatsuhiko Yamagami and Mikio Igarashi's Hitsuji no Ki (Sheep Tree) manga will end in the magazine's ninth issue, which is scheduled to be released on April 8.

Taiyo Matsumoto's Sunny Manga Wins Cartoonist Studio Prize

The online magazine Slate Book Review and Vermont's Center for Cartoon Studies announced the winners of their second annual Cartoonist Studio Prize on Friday. Volumes 1 and 2 of Taiyo Matsumoto's Sunny manga received the Best Graphic Novel prize. The award for Best Web Comic went to Emily Carroll's Out of Skin dark fairy tale.

Kohske's Action Manga Gangsta. Gets Spinoff

Shinchosha's Web @ Bunch website announced on Friday that Kohske's manga Gangsta. will get a spinoff series. Gangsta.:Cursed. EP_Marco Adriano will launch in fourth volume of Quarterly Comic Go Go Bunch. A prologue will appear in the third volume on April 9. Syuhei Kamo is illustrating the series.

The story will focus on the original manga series' character Marco Adriano. He is a 29-year-old executive staff member in the Cristiano mafia family.

Crunchyroll Releases 4 New Fairy Tail One-Shot Manga

Media distribution service Crunchyroll released the first of this spring's four new Fairy Tail one-shot manga by Hiro Mashima on Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET. The manga is available for the website's all-access and manga members worldwide, except for those in Japan, South Korea, Lebanon, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Switzerland, and Morocco.

Tohru Fujisawa to Launch GTO Spinoff Manga in April
