Pokemon X & Y US Sales Top Japan but Pokebank Puts Latter First

Pokemon X & Y is the latest in the Pokemon franchise and around 11.6 million units have been sold around the world since it came out last year.

The figures were based on the Consolidated Financial Highlights for 2013 and they are impressive. The sales figures could be down to the fact that gamers have bought both versions of the game. You can see a difference from the sales record of the Nintendo 3DS with Pokemon X & Y.

Gamers only have to look at the sales to see that the Pokemon franchise is a huge one even though it is an old one. Pokemon can still compete with games such as Call of Duty and FIFA and it hasn’t lost popularity down the ages.

Taking a close look at the sales figures you can see that most of the units have been sold in North America, with a total of 86.27 million having been sold. This of course is a big gap when you know that over in Japan 69.23 units were sold.

So with sales figures like these you do have to wonder why Nintendo chose to re-release PokeBank in Japan first and have owners of the game in the US waiting.
