Pokémon X & Y Beta Competition Detailed, no Pokémon Bank Update

Nintendo has shared the first details for the Pokémon X & Pokémon Y Beta Competition, which is an online Pokémon tournament. According to a post on the official Pokemon Website from Jan. 31, those interested in participating in the Beta Competition can now register to receive an invitation to participate in the online tournament.

The Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Beta Competition is split in two divisions, based on date of birth. Those born after Jan. 1, 1998 will be placed in the Junior division, and those born on or before Dec. 21, 1997 will be placed in the Masters division.
To participate in this exciting Pokémon X and Pokémon Y competition, players will first need a Pokémon Trainer Club account. Owning a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y is a must and you will have to register your Game Sync ID at the Pokémon Global Link website.

To be eligible for the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Beta Competition, you must sign in to Pokémon.com and follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Pokemon.com support center.
  2. Click on the "Home" tab
  3. Click on “Ask a Question.”
  4. In the Department dropdown menu, select “Video Games.”
  5. Do not select anything in the Inquiry Type dropdown menu (this field is not required).
  6. Click the checkbox for “Request Invitation to Beta Competition”
  7. Type “XY Beta Competition” in both the Summary field and the Details field, and then submit the form.

Interested players have until Thursday, Feb. 6 at 5 p.m. PST to request an invitation. If you are invited to partake in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Beta Competition you will be notified with a pop-up notification upon logging in to the Pokémon Global Link website on or after Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. PST. You can find additional online competition rules at the Pokémon website.

Unfortunately, neither Nintendo nor the Pokémon Company have an update concerning the release of the Pokémon Bank application for Nintendo 3DS at this time. Hopefully it is released prior to the start of the tournament for those that participate.
